My old (C1951) Raglan 'Little John' lathe still has the original manual, as well as some details on parts. Of course best we know, Raglan Engineering from Nottingham UK is no longer operating, although there is a site www.lathes.co.uk/raglan/, which has some interesting history details and even a few parts listed. They do also have it would appear, manuals available for a huge quantity of machines -- www.store.lathes.co.uk/ - worth a look in itself.

Recently we dug out the lathe manual to check some details, and found it was getting very 'aged' - partly because it has, over decades, seen a lot of oil! Also there is a small brochure giving some parts information. To try and 'rescue' this old manual and parts info, it seemed worth scanning the whole lot, thinking along the way that possibly having that data on the site here might be useful for the few old stalwarts still enjoying their Raglan lathe.

It might be noted that the condition of the manual was so bad, even careful after-work on scans, that it still resulted in pretty messy results - further cleaning up would have been too time-consuming. That said, the info' is basically readable and higher resolution images could be supplied on request for any specific page. To keep a page - just right click on the image and save it - they are 300 DPI so will not print very large.

Note - the parts section is somewhat random in its layout sequence as the original was, which also had rather broken up continuity. One or two images have options to download a large file for printing.
