It was decided that to speed up tool change options, a near clone could be made of the existing lathe four-way tool post. To this end material was found that was suitable, with some small design changes, and pieces were cut off from a piece of bar. After some preparation (facing) and marking up, removal of surplus material was started but, this proved excessively time consuming with only methods currently available. Change of plan! Locate and purchase an AXA quick-change tool post and holders. This necessitated machining the supplied T-nut to suit the compound slide.
