Simple Lathe Carriage DRO Addition
| We take a very inexpensive digital vernier style unit, modify it a bit to remove some unwanted aspects, and then set up a magnetic mount to the lathe rail. Mounting block is just 1.5 x 0.5 Al bar with inset neodymium magnets, onto which is fixed a piece of 1/8 plate with a bend. The display is fixed to that with double sided tape and the saddle is drilled to take a magnet for the end of the slider - that is about it! |
