Case Hardening - Simple but Useful
| Occasionally, a useful option in the shop, when a durable hard surface is required on an area of low carbon steel, leaving softer material underneath. We look at a quick method giving a thin layer - the simple way. For a thicker layer, prolonged heat within a carburizing medium is needed, such as might be done on gear teeth. |
