Making an Extended Chuck Key
| This is allied to the current motorized turntable project. The four-jaw chuck if fitted to the turntable needs a chuck key - nothing available fitted - plus, it needed to be about 8" long to be able to access all key slots from most angles. Superficially an easy small project -- in fact quite a fiddle as the square had to be cut the hard way using a home-made device in the lathe, in the absence of a milling machine. (We try adding a couple of GoPro clips within the whole, as an experiment!). |
