Fixed Steady Demo and, Using Brass Rifle Case to Clean a File.
| Previously described in gadgets and Gizmos Part 8 - here we have the fixed steady in use but, in a rather extreme situation! We have a round bar with bad run-out and we attempt to correct that such that machining can be done to the end. It is not the usual situation but does perhaps show the value of a steady. We finish with a look at a very simple method for cleaning the crud out of a file using a brass cartridge case. This was part of our early "Gadgets & Gizmos" series. |
