| Now, a couple of home made lathe steadies, one is a full steady the other a traveling ('half") steady. After this we cover three smaller interest items -- a simple center-finder post for tooling, used off the lathe bed (and an even simpler 'button' for use off compound slide), a basic tool rest for a graver tool and, a 'smoker' - simple device for burning kero' or diesel, to create a smokey flame for achieving witness marks on mating workpieces. |
