Modifying an Insert Tool holder
| We obtained an ACME insert suitable for a 12TPI thread - it was a Kennametal item. Got a holder from Shars for a reasonable price but, turns out it was for a smaller size notch insert. Decided to try and modify it to take the larger insert, which should prove adequate if cuts are not made too agressive. Explored getting a proper Kennametal holder from MSC, but at about $130 this was not any way affordable! End result seems adequate. |
