Lathe spindle brake project - testing caliper function
| Decided to set up the disk in chuck and make a simple mounting for caliper. All quickly set up and very basic. Caliper does seem pretty effective - enough hopefully that the project can proceed along the lines described in the last video (Lathe spindle brake project - rethink#2). Still some decisions to make over various details and it seems mounting for caliper needs to be quite strong to handle the torque tendency when braking applied. |
