Lathe Compound Slide Leadscrew and Nut, Part 2
| Prior to reinstalling parts so as to continue work, we draw up reference dimensions for fabricating the new parts. These dimensions are literal, taken off the old pieces - there may be small adjustments made to some during machining. We'll probably make the nut first so that the female thread can be referenced for final fit of male thread, giving room for final adjustments so as to finish up slightly tight. |
